Every seed lot that we grow gets tested to ensure it meets the quality standards to be sold as certified seed. Galloway Seeds has two graders on staff, Jim Galloway and Erin Visser, who have been trained and tested on how to properly grade a seed sample. A requirement of the grading process is getting samples tested. We send our seed samples away to an accredited lab to test for germination, vigour, and disease. Some examples of diseases we test for are fusarium graminearum in all cereals, aschochyta in all pulses and true loose smut in all barley.
